Popul8

What is Popul8:

This Access 97 Add-In is for use by developers who import text files generated from other applications or systems (e.g. AS400) which produce field names in a separate file (e.g. .lab or .fdf).
It populates the fields names of a table from the first field of another table.

To Install:

Unzip and install to your Office directory.
Select the Add-In Manager from the Add-Ins option on the Tools menu.
Select Popul8 and click the Install button.

To use:

Import the text file into Access as normal (tblA)
Import the label file into a different table (tblB)
Run Popul8 from the Add-Ins option of the Tools menu.
Select tblA as the Destination table and tblB as the Source table.
The field names of tblA will be the same as the records in tblB
All illegal characters will be stripped from the field names [ ] . ! ' and spaces they are replaced with _
